Yate is a telephony engine aimed at creating a softswitch that performs well enough to deal with the PBX (Private Branch eXchange) requirements, ACD (Advanced Call Distribution) and also flexible enough for complex VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Gateway, Conferencing and IVR (Interactive Voice Response) solutions. OpenPBX.org is a community-driven vendor-independent cross-platform open source PBX software project. It was originally derived from Asterisk, a Linux software-PBX; now runs fine on BSD variants and Mac OS X also. Can be good alternative for all those, who are not satisfied with Asterisk
